1. Dell G15 5511 Sharp Design

If we talk about the Dell G15 5511 design, so it’s perfectly managed and looks so attractive and amazing, As compared to the previous model of the Dell G series they have completely changed every single detail.

Dell G5 15 is worth the price, also it has a decent design and amazing specs. Well the Dell G5 15 has a top panel up arrow design with the same lines and on the middle Dell branding. On the backside, it looks like the Alienware-shaped body but not an Alienware X17.

The bottom back-sided has some ports, USB, Type-C, and charging ports and Heat exhausts and one exhaust on the left-hand side and another area on the right-hand side. So total it has four exhausts for cooling this laptop. As we realize the Dell G15 has copied the Alienware’s design. It looks similar to the Dell G5 15. They have some space under the display neath basically for keyboard and mouse wires.

On that Dell G15’s right-hand-side G branding on the Heat right top flap. Dell G5 15 5511 model has vent grills here to get cool air and spread the hot air from the heat exhausts.

Sorry for the no fingerprint sensor at all, for now. G15 has an RGB keyboard with the Numpad, causing some brands to remove the Numpad from the 15” lineup. But here we get the Numpad as well. The touchpad is smooth and well placed, there is no issue with the touchpad.

But my issue with the Dell G15’s display, still they have a three-sided bezel display, or the fourth side has a bigger bezel. This is annoying for this laptop. While if someone plays the games on it they can’t prefer to see the bigger bezel. Most of the gaming lineup comes with a thin bezel, but the Dell G15 gaming laptop allows for a bigger bezel.

Overall the design is super cool once you see the design of this laptop fall in love with the Dell G15 gaming laptop. While the Dell G15 Ryzen edition is also great and both of the laptops are great with their specs and overall performance.

The Dell gaming G15 dimensions and weight is just H x 24.9mm, W x 357.26mm, D x 272.83mm, and the weight is just 2.65kg.

2. 165Hz Screen of Dell G15 5511

3. Dell G15 Gaming Laptop Ultimate Performance

Dell G15 Gaming laptop powered by the Intel Core i7–11800H chipset. The Intel Core I7–11800H is a high-end octa-core SoC for gaming laptops and mobile workstations. My suggestion is that if you are not a gamer then the RTX 3060 is suitable for you, or if you are gamers you are thinking about what happened when the newer games arrive in the market.

So RTX 3070 or RTX 3080 is a great choice, when we choose the Intel i9 or Ryzen 9 then the price will be automatically high. RTX 3060 is based on 8nm technology, even the GA106 chip is manufactured by Samsung in 8nm, which is not quite able to keep up with the 7nm node at TSMC.

For the $1299 it’s not a bad deal while other brands come with the above $1400. Here we get the great specs and latest processor. On the other side, we have an AMD model but the AMD models are much expensive than the Intel.

We know at that time their AMD is coming with a good price point, but now AMD is more expensive than the Intel variants. But in the reality is that the AMD processor will be heated up very fast, it goes above 100 degrees. Intel has managed the thermals they could not move to 100 degrees, which is a very very rare case. But every AMD CPU touches 100 degrees. Intel CPU reached around 80–85 degrees. Still, AMD is not improving the heating issue with their CPUs, as for the long run, As we think AMD CPU is not capable to run smooth. The total TDP of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 card is 90W. Another this price point you will get the MUX switch. What is MUX Switch? When running a game frames might be generated on a dedicated GPU, but in the background, integrated graphics are running. This Dell G15 has a nice option to completely disable integrated graphics through BIOS. And the downside is they drain the battery a lot more battery cause all the major tasks are running on the dedicated graphics and they consume a lot of power. Also, you can enable the integrated graphics from the BIOS.

4. Storage and Memory

The Dell G15 5511 came with the 1TB of NVMe PCIe pure SSD and this is upgradeable in the future. It had a dual NVMe SSD slot for extra expandable storage. You feel the 1TB is not enough for yours then easily you can upgrade the storage with the 1TB+1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

While this 512GB of SSD model is also available on Amazon but this is $40 less so, I think buying that model doesn’t even any sense. You can buy the Samsung 980 EVO for $100 to upgrade the storage.

By the way, 1TB storage is sufficient for those games but day by day games requirements are extended like a rocket. Experience faster boot-ups and more storage spaces thanks to an optional dual-drive configuration including SSDs.

Although this variant came with the 16GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM with dual-channel RAM, it is also expandable. You think this is lesser for gaming or run heavy tasks so you might be added a maximum of 32GB 3200MHz RAM.

In Dell G15 5511 there are added 2 x 8GB but you can upgrade it with the 16GB of two RAM.

The Alienware X17 has 3466MHz RAM but the G series has 3200MHz RAM with this Dell G5 15 5511. While this is enough for the gaming and multitasking or runs a high graphics software, in case the RAM is upgradable so no trouble at all.

The interesting fact is, when we look at the motherboard of the Dell G15 5511, the right side of the RAM channel Alienware logo is painted, as I think dell is using a similar motherboard to the Alienware.

As Dell G5 15 is using the PCIe NVMe SSD is super speedy. Users can easily upgrade the RAM and SSD while opening the back panel and some screws and that’s it.

5. Keyboard & Touchpad

G15 5511 had the standard backlit keyboard, four-zone RGB backlit keyboard or G key. QWERT design 101 keys on the keyboard. On that thank, for the Numpad, most of the gaming laptops forget the Numpad. Literally, this is very helpful for the gamers who need always, “Tak tak tak tak”.

G15 battery backup is good, but obsessively the gaming laptop doesn’t provide too much battery life. You play the games on the battery life you will see the performance difference between on charging mode and battery mode. 6. Network, Speakers, and Connectivity

The Dell G15 5511 is paired with the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (2 x 2) or Bluetooth version 5.2. There we will get the latest Wi-Fi modules and Bluetooth modules. Otherwise, they will unbalance your budget if you go with the RTX 3070 or RTX 3080 instead of $1500–2200.

As we get the 1TB of SSD storage and in the future, if it seems to look like less then we will definitely upgrade it. Two slots for the memory, we can upgrade it with the 32GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM.

While the display is doing a phenomenal job, with all of that we use the 5hours of battery life and enjoy the uninterrupted movies or browsing. Basically, the keyboard is not offering per-key RGB, but four-zone RGB is also available. Still, we have an issue with the tiny touchpad. We don’t face any type of issue with the connectivity.
